Why choose Colombia for your family’s linguistic adventure?

Clear, Neutral Spanish That Builds Confidence
Colombian Spanish is internationally recognized for its clarity, consistency, and neutral accent. It is commonly used in language-learning platforms and global media.
Colombian Spanish provides the perfect foundation for communicating clearly and confidently across the Spanish-speaking world.
Warmth That Welcomes Learners
In Colombia, language learning has become a natural part of everyday life. More international families have moved and visited Colombia in the past two decades. Colombians are known for their gentleness and enthusiasm and mistakes are embraced as a natural and welcome part of learning as learners gain the confidence to speak.
My love affair with Colombia
Where you learn matters.
As an educator, father and leader of school expeditions, I have had the privilege of living, learning and exploring this extraordinary country for more than 25 years. The warmth and sense of joy I encountered was incredible. Colombians are rightly proud of their diverse culture and the natural beauty of their land.
I got incredible encouragement from everyone I met as my Spanish developed. It was done with such joy and laughter. Everyone will want to be your teacher! Do not be afraid of trying, you will be loved for it.
You can be on a snow topped mountain, in the Amazon jungle, on a Caribbean beach and you will be welcomed. Every region has its cuisine, its music and a vibrant culture. The variety and warmth is intoxicating and when you return, you will be speaking in a way that all other Spanish speaking cultures will understand. This has been a huge advantage for me and my children in The United States!
As the slogan says,
Colombia ‘The only risk is wanting to stay.’

La Zona Cafetera. Colombia. Chris Agate. | Co Founder of EduEnvironments
In my professional capacity, I have led multiple adventures for children across Colombia as their Educational Visits Coordinator. We have trekked to the Lost City, supported communities in the Amazon and learned crafts and coffee making in the Zona Cafetera. These adventures opened their eyes to the wonders of their own country through real connections to the local people. I was entrusted to take the children on trips of discovery not only within Colombia but also to Canada and Morocco. Safety planning, local knowledge, educational relevance and communication with the children’s guardians is the key.
